The centre works closely with industry through AWS Global and key partnerships and alliances. As a result our programs benefit from current ‘hands on’ industry based expertise that meets the needs of industry now and in the future.

AWS CE Cert IV in Training & Assessment
The AWS CE Cert IV in Training & Assessment is aimed at individuals who are involved, or wish to be involved in the design, delivery and management of training and assessment activities in a vocational education and training (VET) sector.

AWS Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad Knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts.

They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

This qualification would suit an OHS Officer in a full-time dedicated role who works under the supervision of an OHS Coordinator or OHS Manager.

Head Lecturer Appointed

AWS Centre of Excellence (AWS CE) welcomes aboard teaching icon of the welding industry; Les Cowley.

Les will take on the position of Head Lecturer at AWS CE after over 30 years of teaching at TAFE SA.
